What is better than a cold ice-cream on a hot day? We are lucky enough to have some excellent producers of quality gelato and ice-cream in Cambridge, who serve  a host of delicious flavours to keep you returning for more. It would be rude not to try them all wouldn’t it? Here are our favourite places in the city.

Jack’s Gelato:

Jack’s Gelato is a must try destination whatever the weather. Take away some of their inventive flavoured gelatos and sorbets, for example Chelsea bun (yes, the Fitzbillies ones!), chocolate truffle cake, poached pear, marmalade, and  cinnamon toast. These are served alongside the more traditional flavours. Jack started out on his bike and has taken Cambridge by storm, now spoiling the city with two shops. Aromi:

There are three Aromi locations in the city so take your pick or visit them all!  Sit in and enjoy, or takeaway Aromi’s light and creamy gelato which is made daily with organic milk and fresh fruit. Their slow churning process makes for  a soft and smooth finish. Why not try their best seller- the Limone gelato?  Aromi thrive in the city due to their love of people, a love of sharing something special, and of course, a love of great food. A top choice. Benets:

Benets café serve their delicious ice-cream in the city centre based café/ ice cream shop but also through home delivery in pint or half pint. Their Nutella Gelato is a particularly popular choice! Enjoy milk free options too, for example milk and lactose free chocolate sorbet. The café is dog friendly so pop by with the whole family and enjoy.

Crosstown:

1, 3 Station Rd, Cambridge CB1 2JB

There are oodles of interesting flavours and plenty of vegan choice at  Crosstown. With branches throughout London, Crosstown now make their small batch silky ice-cream in Cambridge at their Station road shop. Buy in individual or 500g pots and add some of their toppings too if your choose. It’ll be hard to resist the doughnuts while you are in store though!

Limoncello:

212 Mill Rd, Cambridge CB1 3NF

Mill Road based Limoncello uses the finest ingredients to create authentic and delicious Italian cuisine including; antipasti, pasta, pizza, and GELATO! Dine in and enjoy the covered outdoor area, The Sunset Garden, which is perfect for al fresco dining without the worry of the weather. Limoncello also have a deli which is stacked with tasty products to take home and enjoy. In conclusion, great gelato, great atmosphere and great customer service. My Persian Kitchen:

How about trying a Persian Bastani? My Persian Kitchen serve this tasty treat is a saffron, rosewater and pistachio ice cream ‘sandwich’, served between two wafers. Super delicious and refreshing. Top quality, seasonal ingredients are used here to make all of their nutritious and delicious Persian food. Find them on Mill Road- you won’t be disappointed.

Hadi’s Gelato:

3 Lynn Rd, Ely CB7 4EG

If you fancy a trip from the city, how about a visit to Ely’s Hadi’s Gelato? They have 18 flavours of gelato and sorbet available daily to take away by the scoop or to take home in tubs-  something to please everyone. The sour cherry gelato is a must try. While in Ely, visit Sushi and Salad too!
