Tucked away in High Street passage, Ely, you will find the recently opened Sushi and salad. Sushi fans will love this place- the food is really great quality and there is so much choice. I recently had the pleasure of visiting Sushi and Salad Ely with friends.
The menu:
Choose from the main menu or the vegan or kobachi (small bowl or cups) menu. There is also a dessert menu featuring some rather tasty looking cheesecakes! We ordered from the main and vegan menus during our visit. Whichever you choose, the friendly staff and happy to advise you regarding quantities and dishes. There is so much choice from sushi, ramen, katsu, noodles and salads. All of the dishes are fresh and obviously made with good ingredients and plenty of love and care.
The food:
My friends went for one of the great value combo platters which was so visually stunning as it arrived. It included California rolls, rainbow rolls, spicy crunch, and Nigiri salmon. Fish lovers will adore this feast. Super fresh, tasty sushi, served with soy, wasabi and ginger. They loved every bite.
I ordered the vegetable gyozas. These had a juicy filling and had just the right amount of crunch.
I also enjoyed the crispy mushroom tempura roll. Rice, nori, a perfectly crisp mushroom tempura centre, with avocado, cucumber, sesame seed and a vegan teriyaki sauce. This is so delicious and I could have eaten them all day long!
Sushi and Salad Ely:
The restaurant was busy and I can see why. It is a great place to catch up with friends or just enjoy some super tasty Japanese food. Book in advance to avoid disappointment. I will most definitely be visiting again soon.
